Penis removal vs. testicle removal

Does anyone know the phsyical side effects of removing the penis versus just the testicles? I'm trying to figure out which procedure is best for me, or whether I should get both removed.

Re: Penis removal vs. testicle removal

Doing both at the same time could probably make recovery a lot harder and a lot longer. I've heard a lot of people say once they remove their testicles, they no longer have a desire to do the same to the penis. Just be sure you will be happy with whatever you do

Re: Penis removal vs. testicle removal

Cody,

On a practical level, make sure you can live without the penis after castration. You may still have some libido, and there's no point creating sexual frustration for yourself. Once you are sure you don't need it (wait 6 months at least), then consider it.

You're quite young to be considering these sorts of things. Proceed with caution.

In constrast to castration, there aren't any physical side effects with penectomy, just a host of practical issues, such as: (1) unsolicited discussions with not-so-understanding doctors during routine examinations, (2) inability to pee standing up even when hiking/camping, (3) awkwardness in locker rooms.

Not saying it shouldn't be done. Just make sure you want it bad enough to accept everything in the deal.

Be aware penectomy costs three times what castration costs. If you don't mind leaving Mr. Penis attached, you can save a lot of money.

(Plix -- Thanks for contributing first. You're singing my song.)

I think if you don't know which is right for you, then perhaps you don't know why you're really seeking this.

As a fantasy, having either removed would seem exciting. As a reality, only castration will reduce your libido and hormones and have a more total effect on your body and mind. If you're transgendered, you would want both removed but should really get it done by someone who can do full genital reassignment surgery. Both are serious procedures and each have potential complications -- while castration is often claimed to be a simple procedure, there are plenty of real stories on this forum of people who had serious complications.

Maybe you can explain more about what you hope to accomplish and why you are considering these two different procedures?

Are those really all that big of concerns? Girls are able to squat and pee when hiking/camping, so why should it be a problem for a guy?

Well, Mac, it is because my dick always gets muddy when I squat to pee.

Hi Mac,

It's a concern only if one is trying to keep the penectomy secret. That's all.

Re: Penis removal vs. testicle removal

I have been castrated and hoping to have Penectomy this Spring/Summer.Though I guess my reasons may differ from others.
Aside from the hormonal side effects,my only real issue was discomfort
in walking,lol..I would agree with others though make sure it is something
you are prepared to live with ( or without)
