EPA does clean water and clean air. You can see blue skies rather than gray, polluted skies with a yellow sulfur tinge. It also cleaned up the superfund sites. I prefer breathing fresh air and drinking water free of chemicals BTW.

I miss the USSR!

Think back to the world order we had then.
Like the difference between organized and unorganized crime.
All the little nations and their radicals kept under control.
And the common people outside the Baltics maybe, were living better.
Though I hear the roads in Belarus are the best.

Now with no USSR we have nations where no nation ever existed at anytime in history.
From Belarus through the "stans" and Russia itself, mafia. The people are worse off.

John Paul 2 did a disservice seeking the destruction of the USSR without a plan. Then again, I miss John Paul 1, a people's Pope.

I think that you are mixed up on popes. John Paul I died 30 days after being elected pope. That was back in September 1978.

John Paul II reigned from October 1978 until his death in April 2005.
