We have what we have in the way of fighting vehicles. Nobody has claimed that our equipment and tactics are perfect. The naysayers in America hand on every proble, every defect, to contest the war in Iraq. They are doing their job, but we must dissect their actions as a means to an end. The end that they seek cannot be if we are to have a civilized society in America free of terrorism. Fundamentalism, be it Christian, Muslim or whatever, cannot be allowed to dictate how the citicizens of a free socisty shall live. That is the God-Given choice of citizens in a free society to self-govern. Islam taught this to the Christians and it contributed to the end of the Dark Ages. Sadly, the Spanish Inquisiton later brought an end to peace and terror again brought terrible suffering to the Muslim.
But that is in the past now. Islam must re-learn what the Islamic scholars who followed Muhammad (pbuh) taught nd teach it to the common Arab in the Middle East.
Viet Nam is resurrected almost on a daily basis by those who seek to use different political tactics than those that are being used. IT is O.K., it is how they work. However, a wise person shall eventually see a lie as a lie.
Softee, I have wnet on record saying that after 9-11-2001 that I would have sanctioned a nuclear attack on bin Laden's position as soon as it was known. There was that faction of the military who would have done that. The world held its breath expecting that.
It did not happen. George W. Bush showed much restraint. Regardless, he has his critics. So did Bill Clinton.
If you believe in Religion, if you believe in natural selection, you must believe that the world is what it is and the universe is unfolding as it should in its infinite expansion.
But Softee, both of these fine men, our recent Presidents, were our elected presidents, (although some argue this, and I understand the arguments), nevertheless, we have leaders in America who are put there by a process snd rule of LAW, not by revolution, mob violence and anarchy.
This is what must happen for the common Arab in the Middle East if there is to ever be peace for the poor, abused, Arab people. These people deserve to have peace, Softee. They deserve to have their young bury their old instead of the other way around as it has been for generations in the Middle East. If we must fight a war to do that for them, then that is how it must be.
If we do not, then we shall have many, many more 9-11's. If we do not then eventually many, many innocent people will die who did not chose to enlist in a military to defend their country.
