Cathy decides that it is time for her husband Jim to be fixed.
May 15th was not a day that Jim was looking forward to. It marked the day of his 50th birthday but this alone wasn’t the only reason for his lack of enthusiasm for the date to arrive. Not only did it symbolically mark a milestone in his life in that he would be entering middle age but it also meant that he would have to follow through on a promise he made to his wife, Cathy, years before.
Cathy was the rational planner in their marriage. While things always didn’t work out exactly as planned, most things did and Jim found himself at a point in his life just where Cathy had predicted they would be, with two grown children out of the house and just Cathy and Jim left at home.
“When the kids have grown and we are older, I expect that our lives will change”, said Cathy, even before the inception of their first child. “For instance, sex will no longer be as important to us as it is now.”
In the interim years, Cathy continued to make reference to the time when they would be older and alone together once again. “The last thing that I will want is for you to be chasing me all over the house for sex just because you are bored”, Cathy once said to Jim. But Cathy continued to service Jim every weekend night and he gave no thought to Cathy’s occasional comments on the subject.
On Jim’s 45th birthday Cathy dropped the bombshell. “Jim, when you turn 50, I think that this would be a good time for you to be fixed. You’ll still be healthy enough to readily adapt to the change. I’ll be 48 and I won’t be interested in sex as much by then. Sex already is not all that important to me. We’re both getting older, you know.”
At 45 Jim felt that he was in the prime of his life. “Why should I ever want to give up sex”, he asked himself. But Cathy kept the pressure on him over the next few years to acquiesce and eventually Jim did, thinking that the day would never come.
But it did.
As I said, Cathy was the planner of the two and she had everything laid out for Jim’s big day. She knew where to go and what procedure would be best for him.
“I have found a doctor willing to perform the procedure on you”, Cathy related to Jim as the impending date got closer. “She will remove your testicles and your scrotum so that you will have a nice smooth look down there. Don’t be so glum; you knew that this was coming and it’s really no big deal”, she added. “Think of all the positive health benefits. You’ll live a lot longer to see the grandchildren grow up. And sex will no longer be something that is important to you so you can focus on other things in your life. Think of it as a new start for the both of us.”
And now Jim found himself in some clinic, being examined by the physician who would be performing the operation. “It is really a simple matter”, the doctor related to Jim as she examined his testicles. “And by removing your scrotum at the same time you won’t have any excess skin to irritate you down there. We will use local anesthesia and the operation should take an hour or so to complete. We will first cut away much of the testicular sack, leaving enough to create a smooth, comfortable closure when the remaining skin is stitched back together. The testes’ cords will be tied off and taken out by simply snipping them from their cords. In a week or so, you will have healed to the point that you will no longer be distracted. Do you have any questions?”
Jim wanted to know, “what will be my ability to have sex once I am done”?
“That all depends upon the individual. What typically happens after such a procedure is that the male’s ability to maintain an erection declines, as does his desire for sex, as the amount of testosterone decreases in his body due to the lack of having any testicles. This can be regulated by the application of testosterone to replace what the body can no longer produce. The ability to perform should not be an issue”, said the doctor, “if you decide that sexual intercourse is something that is still important to you”.
And as the doctor told Jim, the operation went quickly and without any problems. He came home just with his dangling male organ left, and the stitches where his sack used to be. As he healed Jim was left with the constant reminder that something was missing down there, since there was nothing left to support the remaining symbol of his manhood any longer. In time, he got use to the feeling as being something normal.
Jim also got use to his decline in sexual urges. Actually, it wasn’t something that he really cared about. It was as though it didn’t matter any longer. He went through other health issues but Cathy was again ready and he was able to accommodate them fairly easily with Cathy’s knowledge on what to expect and her care.
That was six months ago. Jim and Cathy are still a loving couple; maybe even closer than they were before. Sex seems to be a thing of the past for them. “You know, we haven’t made love in three months now”, said Jim last week while they lay in bed for the night. “Maybe we should think about doing it sometime.”
“Has it been that long”, answered Cathy. “I guess that we should”, she said, as Jim promptly feel asleep.
