Thread: One Day in the Life of a Wolf

Re: One Day in the Life of a Wolf

I have a new plan of attack. I havent been able to sleep in a week: I go to bed when mom falls asleep at midnight and lie awake till 5:00am then finally drift off and sleep till past noon.

I drink DietCoke for energy so I've decided to stop the caffeine intake by 9:00pm to see if the caffeine is what is doing me in.

My plan of attack was fine but I forgot to take into consideration random events or Murphy's Law.

I went to bed at midnight precisely and mom was asleep. I was just starting to dose off about 12:30am when I heard a commotion: mom was trying to get out the front door. I escorted her by to her wheelchair and to her bed. For the next several hours till almost 5:00am, that was the routine.

At 5:00am mom complained of pain in her back and I gave her a darvocet. She drifted off to sleep within 20 minutes. Strangely, I was wide awake and not until just now feeling like collapsing.

One cause for her actions last night: we had run out of her nerve pills (Xanax) as the pharmacy screwed up and it wasn't filled till today.

Tonight, I'll try the plan again but with a slight edge. I'm taking one of mom's Xanax to help me relax enough to sleep.

UncleFlo Thanks, I'll watch for the caffeine withdrawl effects.

Gawd, I love caffeine...I mean DietCoke.

I had a mouse problem in one house i lived in, at first I could not understand it, I phoned the local council pest officer (its free in the UK)

He visited and laid poison telling me the cat will not eat the poison, yet again I found a mouse in the kitchen, I put a glass jar over it and again phoned the Pest officer who came over, he picked up the mouse telling me it was a field mouse and he could not understand why it was in the house.

Again he baited the house, a few days latter I was just going to work in through the cat flap appeared Jessica the cat,

My faithful guardian, and holding in its mouth a wriggling mouse, Looking all proud she walked up to me releasing the mouse at my feet,

The terrified mouse instantly disappeared into the hall, Needless to say Jessica got her marching orders, and since she has gone I have had no more mice

so the moral of this story is "All cats are not mice killers but collectors"

She was merely bringing you a gift! You have no idea how lucky you are! I had a cat, Charles Lamar Bellaphonte III. He wouldn't kill them, but play with them until they died of a heart attack. Then he would drop the bodies in my shoes. My other cats, King Richard and The Cowardly Prince John however, would tear the mice to bloody pieces and leave them in places I was sure to step on them.

The Cowardly Prince John, to show his undying devotion, dropped a live one on my head while I was laying in bed one night. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I heard the squeeking.

Fetching me a present be dammed, I was over run with the little beasts while the dammed cat resided with me living a life of luxerary.

And Charles Lamar Bellaphonte III. what kind of name for a cat is that,

Then king Richard and The Cowardly Prince John O dear, in my view we only ever had one real king in this country, and that was Edward 1st, he new how to deal with infiltraters and foreigners, he sorted out the Scottish and the Welsh in one go no messing about there.

I want him reincarnated to deal with our present foes, there was no political correctness with him, there was no worrying about some enemy's personal rights, He is my hero from history and I want him back, and if I ever have another mouse I am sure he would deal with that as well

do you think I have drifted off the subject of McWolfs mouse infestation here.

Chares Lamar Bellaphonte III was named after a friend of mine from high school, Charles Lamar Bellaphonte II. He died on a basketball court of an asthma attack a week after graduation. The other two I'd inherited, and they came with the names. They seemed to suit their feline personalities, I saw no reason to change them.

Jenny's cat seems to have the main mindset as does River's cat Rupert. As I recall, Rupert brings him presents like lizards or snakes. Cute cat.

BTW, I slept 11 hours last night...WOO HOO

I can only imagine growing up with a name like Chares Lamar Bellaphonte III, I am sure it would open doors for me so much better than Jenny. after all there are million s of jenny's, but Chares Lamar Bellaphonte III that has to be a first.

any way getting back to my ex cat Jessica, not only did she fetch mice into the house she would attack any one I took home for no reason, I passed her on to a real cat lover who already had several cats.

Later I heard she has been moved on again for attacking her cats and fetching young birds into the house, All I can say is if you want a quiet life and someone offers you a cat called Jessica do not accept run as fast as yo can.

I think it is time to give up "cat talk" and let Mr. Wolf have his thread back. --FLO--

I just sent mom to hospital by ambulance. She has had a pain in her left side for several days now and trouble urinating so I figured possible kidney stones or related infection.

She has refused to eat for three days now. Maybe she was in too much discomfort to eat.

Now I'll wait for a call from the hospital in 3-6 hours to give me a prognosis. The paramedics did say they were "very" busy tonight hence it may be a while before she is seen, examined or released.
