    Closing the old peehole

When a urethral relocation is done without removing the penis, how do they close the old peehole? And does anyone have a picture of the head of a penis whose peehole has been closed, by any chance?

For birth control reasons, perhaps - he could have unprotected sexual intercourse with a woman without chance of pregnancy.

Then again, if a guy who has had a urethral relocation with closure of the original meatus has sex, it might result in a sticky mess coming out between his thighs from his new pee-hole. :P (Rather than there being no mess at all)

Generally they don't close it, and for good reason. Guys that have had it done (and retain everything else) are told to hold their finger over the opening and urinate normally through the original urethra. The urine helps keep the area sterile so they don't get yeast infections and such in the old pathway.

It is technically feasible to remove the old urethral pathway entirely, but that's not done for a number of reasons - difficulty, the fact that they'd have to hack the penis apart to get to it, healing issues, etc.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a urethral relocation?

    Yup!

    That's what happens!

(Believe it or not, but it can squirt quite a ways, too. )

Is there a need to close the urethera? Wouldn't that be a handy place to carry rolled up $100 bills, or other valuables while on a trip to a high-crime country? I'll bet that not many muggers would think to look inside your penis!
I would think that after a penectomy the best place for the urethera would be below the balls. There would be no need to close the opening as it would still be in use .

The urethra is an integral part of the third chamber inside the penis - the corpora spongiosum - which in turn makes up the glans or head (and the bulb up inside).
The relocation eveeryone is talking about apparently deals with moving the opening to a different location - often behind the balls and just in front of the anus. Some want the opening there whether they have their penis removed or left in place.
If a guy has his entire penis removed, including the roots and bulb, the only logical thing to do with the urethra is to reroute the exit point to just in front of the anus.
    I agree with you . - steve
