Thread: Hoover Moratorium

  1. #1

    Hoover Moratorium

On June 20, 1931, President Herbert Hoover, a Republican, took an action that benefitted Western Europe, but was devastating, economically to America. He called for a one year moratorium on the war debts owed by several nations in Europe to the United States. He did this at a time when America really needed the money. Most Americans were outraged by his actions. In the end, only one nation in Europe paid its entire war debt back to the United States, Finland.

Sure, no problem, assuming of course that a 'fin' is that currency used exclusively in Fredonia. Last I heard, one fin = 17.5 cents.

I have to admit I had high hopes for this thread being an announcement that I no longer had to vacuum my living room carpet.

Get a Dyson, it sucks with the best of them.

No, I was hoping for a female of the BLONDE-BLUE-EYED variety. Something made about 1980 or so. 125 Pounds or under...(but not too much under)

Son of a bitch, Paolo, I just did that... first link today was of a cat riding that Roomba like a boss, and as it approached the PIT BULL IN THE KITCHEN... she reaches out and BITCH-SLAPS him as she cruises by.

InPuppet Masters, Heinlein's most rabid and paranoid right wing novel, (and one of his better) he posits an invasion by mind parasites that takes over our minds and makes puppets of us humans, who then work to spread the infection. From all the evidence, I am beginning to suspect that cats are launching such an invasion of us humans. Look at the evidence. Suddenly cute, endearing cat pictures are popping up on my Facebook news page by some application I have no memory of ever signing up for. I suspect the whole Youtube thing would collapse into bankruptcy were it not for all the cute cat videos people are mindlessly watching when they should be working. Look at Moi's thread What is it about, Cats ? http://www.eunuch.org/forums/showthr...highlight=cats which has 250 replies. See our own resident curmudgeon and evil dark lord, Paolo, pimping addicting cat videos. Resist the mind control I say. (I'll be right back after I watch another Roomba Cat)

Agree, even my avatar is a cat.

Then there is the 'goldfish funeral' which shows what cats are really up to.
