My penis glans does have a 4 gauge ring through it and the glans is also split in half, and I'm also castrated, so that was enough of a reason since I told her I was tired of the urine splattering. I believe she was really curious, she said she had never done one of these and that also gave her reason to do it. She did get some coaching from another male urologist during the surgery. I personally think that she's suspicious and probably thought/thinks I'll cut my penis off now that I have a reroute, and she's right, but not now, not yet, though I will someday. (I tried to get her to remove the rest of my scrotum, but she wouldn't do it).
As for urine traveling up the urethra after the tip is sewn shut, it might happen, every now and then a little urine seems to make it's way to the tip, but not much, not a full drip. But as butterflyjack stated, once the glans is sutured close, whatever goes up the urehta will just drip back out. However, the reroute has basically shut off the urine flow already. I don't urinate with the majority of my penis anymore and have to sit for the rest of my life. Sitting is comfortable and it's kind of fun to pee while your penis lays on the toilet seat in front of you. So I'm not worried about any fungi growing in my uretha, but hey, if I get an infection and my penis has to be removed, well that's not a bad thing either. I expect to have this done before the end of June. I'll let you know.
P.S. I do find the thought of having this woman sew my glans shut erotic and titillating, even though I'm not sexual anymore. I also wonder if stuffing the urethra with a soft silicone rod before she stitches it closed would be beneficial.
