    Cookouts on MEMORIAL DAY

The supermarket today was polluted with eager housewives and lost men searching the store for memorial day barbecues and food. I'm glad I went at the slow time in the afternoon. Once school let out or tomorrow and Saturday, the store will be an absolute cluster frack of people trying to but grilling things.

I'm planning on grilling hamburgers for Memorial Day eating.
I'm also planning on doing some personal things (involving relatives) in remembrance of wars past and present.

I say this in the political thread to remind everyone that Monday is not Labor Day (the traditional start of the political season)...

Cool Re: Cookouts on MEMORIAL DAY

I'm glad we have Memorial Day,
I just wish we would bring back Armistice Day for the
    lost in World War 1.

What honor is demonstrated to those who serve?
Job preference by government of private sector? Extra points on a civil service exam?
Hell, Banks even foreclose on their homes while involved in active duty.

    It is a real shame.
But, it is the 21st Century - who feels shame for anything. All is ok if not good.

Moi, we or at least Washington does recognize November 11th each year known as Armistice Day this year it will be on Monday November 12th, called Veterans Day, so what are you talking about, it is still a federal holiday. Sense there is nobody in the world still alive who served in WWI what is the big deal in changing the name to Veterans Day or is that your bitch?

As for Memorial Day, I will once again remember the friends of my youth who are no longer with us because of war.

    RIP Mike.

Now go out and enjoy the weekend.
Give the electrons a rest from partisanship.

Give the fingers food to shove in your mouth, yummy food, cook on grills in the hot sun.
Have some baked beans and cole slaw and cheetos and pretzels and smores and toasted marshmallows.
and above all, remember why we celebrate the day.

Hopefully the rain will stop for the weekend, today it pored all day. Rain, Hail, lightning, thunder, we had it all, all day long.

I sure hope it got it out of its system as I am ready to BBQ.

    Well,

From the weatherman here locally it is predicted that it will be hotter than broiled HELL here.

Even in Indianoplace it is predicted that the Indianippless 500 will be the hottest on record.

Probably it is so hot because of the firing of Peyton Manning.

Oh, did ya hear? The Broncos sacrificed a VIRGIN for a SUPERBOWL WINNER! (get it?)

I wonder as moi would say, I wonder what will happen to the Colts if Denver wins the Superbowl?

It gets funner every time I think about it.
