Oh let us give him as much time to try and improve things as Bush had to screw things up. Yes I am still blaming Bush for two wars and a failed economy. I would mention tax cuts for the rich and other things I blame but that would be off topic.

I totally agree that Obama hasn't done enough to fix the mess. I'm right there with you, buddy. That has been one of my chief complaints about the guy.

Where I come in on this though, is the main reason the recovery has been slow, is that the stimulus was too small, and too focused on Bail-outs of the financial industry, and tax cuts. There was too little spending on the middle and working class.

Obama has been fought tooth and nail by the republicans in congress to get anything of substance done, economically or otherwise. He's been facing a group that shouldn't even deserve the title of republicans. They've made their position clear. Nothing gets done while Obama is in office. If that group were even slightly concerned for the future of the nation, they'd act like real republicans and put the country first and foremost over their political ambitions. They'd need to actually negotiate with the dems to come to compromises.

I don't think I have to look very hard at the problem to come to this conclusion. When the USA lost its AAA economic status, that was laid solely at the feet of the republicans and their unwillingness to raise taxes to pay for anything. Their unwillingness to budge one inch on the budget.

I don't see Mitt Romney as changing that at all. He'll drop taxes even more. He'll remove the safety net for the working class and middle class. He'll make long term investment in the United States less attractive, in exchange for short term gains. It is a strategy that completely failed under the presidency of Bush Jr.

Could a republican win my vote? Absolutely. Could Mitt? No way, no how. From what I know of the guy, he would be just more of the same. Worse yet, he is the poster child for what is wrong with the American economy, not the solution.

I guess that the Auto industry hasn't revived and is still at the brink of bankruptcy?
I guess that the banks have not recovered their loses?
I guess that the Bin Laden and 30 other Al Quaeda are not dead?
I guess that the IRaq war has not ended?
I guess that Health Care reform was not passed?
I guess that Pay equality wasn't passed.

Just to ask a few things that "make a significant start" might mean if you aren't blind deaf and dumb or haven't been living in a cave.
