I get internet from COMCAST and the price has remained the same for over two years. At least since I got my HDTV service in 2009.

My problem now is the Pay Per View stuff that if I am not careful adds big bucks to my bill.

My provider is CableOne. HD channels are free, as long as you get the non-HD version of the channel also (so there are some channels in the HD tier that I cannot watch, like NatGeo, because I refuse to pay another $10 a month for the non-HD "value channel package").

My Internet price recently went up... but only by about $2. I get 50 Mbps for the first 50 GB per month of download bandwidth, then if I exceed 50 GB (which hasn't happened yet), it drops to the "standard rate" of 10 Mbps for the rest of the billing cycle. With cable and two HD tuner boxes, it works out to about $120 a month. Not too unreasonable.

If it were just me, I'd get rid of cable and stream the shows I wanted to watch off the Internet, and my monthly bill would be cut in half to about $60 a month. But my mother lives on the other side of the duplex and is 80 years old. You know about old people and technology; after getting digital, she called me at least once a day to "fix her TV". (She kept forgetting to hit the "Cable" button on the multifunction remote after turning on the TV, so when she changed channels, it wasn't on "HDMI 1" anymore. She finally decided to just hit the "Cable" button *every* time she changes the channel, just to make sure.)
