Are you thinking of doing this? If so, I'd be interested in your story.

I have to point out that having spoken to the thread starter on the chatroom, he's probably just talking about a fantasy. The way he's spoken in the chatroom, the inconsistencies of his stories as told to different persons, not to mention his rather unenlightened and downright bigotry beliefs about gender and identity, his being rude to trans people on the chatroom, and his boasting about having slept with many "real" women, all seem to be inconsistant with his other claims here. Best take his words with a pinch of salt.

So, to like someone then you have to have a sense of familiarity and love is simply some intense passion that fades? Reminds me of something I heard somewhere else. "There are two kinds of love. One is an intense flame which is gone in a flash. The other is a slow burning ember. A good marriage burns slowly."

I am curious how a relationship that gets that bad started. When something collapses like that I would think the flaws were in the foundation.

    ok no worries.

the gist of what u said is that such a decision is a big one and that it should be one that is discussed with a life-partner at the very least right? that is a sentiment i definately agree with.

I guess to be fair we have to remember many of them may be from another generation where social pressures to get married probably means people leap into marriages. I've learnt that to like and love someone is often a huge step away from living together.

LOL. Metaphors always get me in trouble. I would hope that most married people enjoy their marriages more than urinary tract infections, but I know a few who don't.

    Sandi,

If you don't mind me asking. If for some reason you found yourself single again in the distant future. Would you look for someone with similar interests to your husband? Would you be just as happy with someone without the added kink? I guess I'm asking if it is part of who you are now and would be with anyone? Or is it just what you do for his gratification?

    Curiously Yours

P.S. If you prefer to answer in a private message that is okay by me, If you don't want to answer that's also cool.

Well attiitude is everything, if you have a bad attitude even if it's good it'll be bad, if you have a good attitude than it might not be good, but you won't be as down, and you can work to make it better.

If we only have this particular thread to go by, then we might think that most don't enjoy their marriages!

I imagine its not that different from a business, Satisfied costumers tell their friends, unsatisfied customers tell everyone.

To tell the truth, I'm not sure. Certainly Tim's kinks weren't even on the radar when I met him, but there was an instant chemistry between us, and my childhood experiences with my brother prepared me to be okay with the kinks. Would I be happy with another man, kinks or no? I have no idea. The chemistry has to be there first. If the chemistry is there, I don't think tormenting a man sexually is such a core part of my being that I'd feel unfulfilled without it, but who knows? I know I'd miss it after 20 years, but there's so much more of Tim I'd miss--his sense of humor, how I can rely on him to handle whatever comes up, the security I feel with him, his tenderness. I emphasize the kinks in posts here, because this, after all, a forum for those interested in castration, penectomy, sex change and the like, but we've gone months with just "vanilla" sex. Wish I had a straight answer for you. Predictions are always difficult, especially when the relate to the future.

True, but punkypink has a point. Granted that bad news travels fast and that EA is not exactly a valid statistical cross section of the world's population, still 50% of marriages in the US end in divorce.
