    Dr. Ron Paul, 2012?

"Don't forget DR Paul between the three of them Cain the tea party candidate, Paul the libertarian, and the GOP candidate who I will guess will be Romney. I like it, everybody should have a choice.
    River"

If Paul ran on the Libertarian Ticket, Would you vote for him and Could he win?

I think he would pull a LOT of votes from both sides of the Isle. Might even pull out a 40/30/30 win.

AFter today, CAIN Is dead in the water. You'll be able to watch his ratings sink.
There's too many explanations about whatever happened at the Restaurant Owners Assoc to take him seriously anymore

And the conservative right wing evangelicals will never support Ron Paul. Never.
“They also call it the Winged Isle. Some say it is because the island, if seen from above, would look like butterfly wings. And I do not know the truth of it.” Then, “ ‘And what is truth?’ said jesting Pilate.” From: The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains by Neil Gaiman.

    He waits.
He watches while collecting assets via a money bomb.
Meanwhile the early front runners duke it out and get bloodied.
People are frustrated enough with the middle middle corporationist his message may resonate.
Not as a Libertarian but as a loyal GOP Congressman, from Texas.
I expect we will be "hearing" a lot more of Dr. Paul that the media can no longer short change him in coverage or write off while the media decides who we should pay attention to.

Well, the only way that Ron Paul could win would be if the Republicans and the Libertarians entered into a collusion, which is basically what is happening on this thread as exhibited in the following...

    Re: Dr. Ron Paul, 2012?

I believe Cain was part of the topic as posted by moi in thread #1.

Yes I agree Cain is dead, they are leaving Perry in droves, it looks like Mitt for the GOP, Paul for the Libertarian Ticket and the President for the Democrats.

I would never vote for Paul, I think he is about a half step outside reality and the other on a banana, I have seen what he raised in his son the tea party guy so no I don't think I could ever vote for this man.

He will get support from the fundamentalist who just can't or won't ever vote for a Mormon as they see Mitt as belonging to a cult, so with no tea party person to vote for (unless they come up with one between now and then, like Joe the Plumber) they may throw their support behind Paul, he will end up with 10 to 15% of the vote taking no states, and splitting the republican party votes, this will give the presidency back to Obama. Hell he may end up winning more states then he did the first time with less total votes.

Its simple, people are out of work, housing is in the trash, people want jobs, republicans are talking about taxes, Paul is talking about no tax for anybody for anything, the president is talking and doing something about JOBS. He wins this argument and he will win again in 2012.

    Re: Dr. Ron Paul, 2012?

I like about 95% of what Ron Paul says. Problem is, that last 5% is pretty important and it's enough to make me not want to vote for him.

Going back to the days of isolationism might seem like a good idea on the surface but it's an impossible dream. The USA is still the world's only superpower and, as such, we simply can't go back to how we were in 1915, which is apparently the Utopian world Paul espouses.

We might be broke but, unlike almost all the European countries, we still have the most resources, a population with a strong work ethic, AND the fewest citizens who expect the Government to provide for their every need. It's called "self-reliance"... We still have it, they don't.

As for Romney, he might be acceptable, if he's the nominee but he certainly isn't the best choice. But, anyone else is still better than the incumbent. We simpley can't stand another four years of (apprently well meaning) total incompetance. We need an adult in the oval office.

Really? Well thank god Sarah Palin ain't running then! Change for change's sake is absolutely the dumbest concept anybody can subscribe to. One wonders what you people are prepared to accept just to get Obama out. Woo let's get all the homophobic elitist religious fundamentalist Republicans in power because hey that's better than having Obama at the helm! Yay the country is getting richer because they're not incompetent but shame the lion's share of the wealth goes to their cronies. Gay? Trans? Not christian or white? Serfdom awaits! Yea that's sooooooo much better!

Content-free statement. You should not have bothered. The same statement could be said about his predecessor, and he was provably stupid.

Actually, he was quite on topic. This seemed to be a discussion of those candidates so I'm not sure what the objection is?

"If Paul ran on the Libertarian Ticket, Would you vote for him and Could he win?"

Was just asking a simple question. So far, the comments have been a pom-pom cheering for Obama from the Forum Moderator, A bash session from PunkyPink, and a bedfellows comment from A-1...

    I guess a simple ' yes ' or ' no '.. even a ' maybe ' answer is sometimes out of reach

"I believe Cain was part of the topic as posted by moi in thread #1. "

Yes, he was Riverwind, Thus a separate topic as to not muddy Moi's. For all the comments and being told ' your off topic ', it doesnt work out very well, does it?
