If you wanted to return to male functionality then you'd take full does of testosterone.

The other aspect of the decision is cost. Getting HRT isn't necessarily covered by insurances, and if it is you might not get much choice in terms of what type. If you don't have insurance then it can add up.

Lastly it depends on the application. Do you really want to be self-administering injections every week? I've done a lot of steroids, but never really got used to sticking a needle into myself.
I am impotent and any injections of testosreone will not return me to functionality. I am aware of the need for calcium supplements. Meanwhile it will be a wait and see attitude for this individual who wishes to remain a male.

Dr. Arnkoff performed "the Procedure" on me on Sept 24 and today is the 26th. I have minor pain with little leakage, if any. I found hime to be quite professional and the process to about 45 minutes.

    R,

Congrats on your orchiectomy. Glad it worked out. Good to have positive feedback on Dr. Arnkoff.

    Heal quickly,

    regreen13,

Would you have been OK to get on an aeroplane after the procedure or the next day, for a 12 hour trip?

I'm in the UK and am planning the logistics of making a visit to Dr. Arnkoff. I think Detroit is the nearest airport but there are no direct flights from the UK I understand, so it's a long trip with a change.

Linsey, have you looked at Delta Airlines website. A KLM flight from an UK airport will connect with Delta flights at Amsterdam's Schiphol and onward direct to Detroit Wayne County airport.

I would not advise flying until at least 2-4 days after any surgery on a long trip. Especially one as there is most likely a drain installed.

Delta Airlines has non-stop service from Heathrow to DTW 2 flights a day. KLM also sells seats on those flights as well, so check both for the best price. Good luck.

I took a two-hour flight three days after my orchiectomy. No real issues as there was no drainage or seeping. Longer flights might be a bit more uncomfortable, but not unbearably so. The more you rest and remain less active the first two to three days after surgery, the better your healing will be.

If you want it bad enough, you'll endure a simple flight change. Sheesh...

Since what I would have suggested for travel already has been, I'll stop here.

I sat in the Detroit Airport for 4 hours and then the flight was fouhours to LA and waited another two hours in LA for a 30 minute flight to San Diego. My answer is yes, get up and walk around and take the pain pills. I had no problems on Monday, the third day.
