It is now almost 3 years since they left office. Isn't it about time that the current administration and Congress start accepting some responsibility for their actions and the state of the country? How long does it take for CHANGE? Is this the undefined promised change which you had hoped for?

We're not in a Depression, in which eight years of Republican rule under Bush almost got us. I wish Obama had fought harder for jobs through infrastructure spending and development of alternative energy sources, but against Republican opposition, I don't guess he could have. Their single minded resolve to cut spending - Congress and State governments - have already cost us 800,000 government jobs. Is there any wonder, the unemployment rate is at 9.1%. For that, I blame the Republicans, not Obama.

You bitch and moan about Obama restricting Medicare Advantage, which mainly benefited the insurance companies, because it might have cost you a few bucks. I haven't heard you say anything about Ryan's plan, which, effectively, gets rid of Medicare.

All you ever do is spout the Republican, Tea Party, line. I've never seen an original thought posted by you. I could find your exact words posted on any Right-wing blog.

Unfortunately, the time to cut back is not when the country is on the brink of financial collapse. Dealing with the debt can hold off for a few years, until the current crisis passes.

Once the recovery is underway, that is when you reign in spending. Unfortunately, when times were good, nobody paid any attention to getting the financial house in order. Ideally, that's when it should have been done.

(Refer to Canada, a country which managed to not only attain a balanced budget in better times, but managed to rack up budget surpluses far in excess of any other G7 country. Not to mention that we may well be on track to be the first G7 country to return to that position, after several years of deficit spending in order to try and get things back on track.)
