It's society's narrow view on masculinity. All guys want to be rugged macho men. There's nothing more masculine then a penis. Ergo all guys must want their penis. You can't be a guy without the equipment to prove it etc. I'm a masculine guy and I can't see why that would change just because a few inches of fairly unimportant flesh and tissues weren't dangling between my legs. So far I've never had anyone demand to see my penis before accepting me as masculine, and it's not like I walk around with it hanging out for all to see.

Thailand was my first choice. Just trying to pony up the $6000 for full nullification. I was thinking that if an ER had to remove my penis, then they would most likely do a urethra reroute. As a side note...Shortly after I first posted this, I tried banding a few times. The first session only lasted about 20 minutes before the pain was unbearable. Eventhough it never changed color, it did lose ALOT of sensation in it. A couple days later, I was able to leave a band on for about 30 minutes. Again, it didn't change color, but it got comp-letely numb, and the area around the band got sore. After cutting the band off, I noticed it was still very numb a few hours later, so I banded again. That time I felt very little pain in it at all, and the band didn't really hurt. I was able to leave it on for more than an hour, and was in such little pain, I almost fell asleep. Still, after that amount of time, no color change. It did, howver, go completely numb! That has been almost a week now, and I haven't banded since, but it's still completely numb. I have no feeling or sensation in it, whatsoever. I could hit this thing with a hammer and not feel it. I'm hoping it stays numb like it is. Atleast, if I've got to keep it until a rip to Thailand, it's much better now that I can't feel it.

how much time have you been banded in total to achieve long time numbness? Did you fall asleep?

@Fulltime, Do you think you have permanently killed the nerves? I am just wondering if feeling will ever come back. I have "played" with different banding before and have never lost feeling completely or for very long.

You might have snapped or severely damaged your dorsal nerve. That's the main nerve that runs down the length of the penis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pudendal_nerve.svg

Are you still urinating from your penis? Any problems with that? If not you may have achieved what many have wanted to achieve for a long time, complete numbness, however, your body will most likely try to repair this nerve, so even though the feeling is gone for now, sensation could return in another month or two.

Yes, it still works for urination, and unfortunately I feel some sensation coming back

OK...Trying this again. Watching for color change, but still haven't noticed any. Band doesn't hurt at all. Hopefully, this time, I'll be able to numb it permanently.
