    Hi gjvr2001 and Welcome,

First thing can you get a copy of your labs and post them. Your levels can be
this low I have seen this before mine were 120. If your Pituitary is not
telling your Testis to make enough T your levels will get this low and your
testis will get very small from not working a high fever can damage your
pituitary. Mine is damaged from a head injury.

As for taking lovastatin I would not take it after I had heart bypass sugary the
put me on this crap and it made my joints and muscles sore. I kept telling my
Dr.'s about this and they kept telling me to keep exercising and eating a Heart
smart diet. A heart smart diet is low fat. Being on Statin drugs lowers your
CoQ10 levels and not having enough fat in your diet damages your muscles even
    more.

My Dr.'s would not listen to me until last Sept. I hit bottom I could not stand
up or walk. I now need a walker to do this. Now my Dr.'s know all about what
is doing this and took me off statin drugs and are treating me with a huge about
of supplements to get my muscle to come back. So you have a heart problem they
put you on Statin Drugs and there is no proof out there they work. Tell me to
Exercise on them drugs all this did was do more damage and eating a low fat diet
    add to the mix.

So if I were you I would read up on this Statin Drugs muscle damage you don't
need this crap on top of everything you how wrong now.

As for you BP levels my Heart Dr. has me taking 5 mgs / day of Cialis to keep my
BP down and it's great for my heart and helps with ED problems.

If you get your Testosterone levels up pasted mid range and keep your Estraidol
levels down to about 20 pg/ml you would do much better and your BP might come
back down. Low levels of T stress out our body big time.

The dose of Gel your on is a starting dose most men need more to feel better
most do 10 grams per day.

I don't do gels anymore I don't feel good on them I do Test C shots every 3 days
and I use HCG the day before my Test C shot. I keep my levels of TT up into the
800's to feel good some men do good in the 600's.

Go to Dr. Johns site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update he
puts this out there free for you and your Dr. his is about the best hormone Dr.
    out there.
    www.allthingsmale.com

You need to do labs after you start geld in 2 weeks to tell if they are working
some men don't do good on them it can't get through there skin. The best levels
I ever got were in the 500's on 10 grams of gel.

When you go to do labs get up in the morning take a good shower making sure you
have all the gel off your body. Then go do your labs first before putting on
the gel. If you put on the gel first it can spike up your labs very high. The
testosterone from the gel stays just under your skin feeding your body slow for
about 4 to 6 hrs so taking blood can pull in some of the Testosterone from under
your skin and spike up your levels.

If you can't do labs in the morning put the gel on keeping it off the area they
take your blood from and do the labs after 6 hrs.

Thanks for the info Phil. I don't have the numbers available for the FSH and LGH but the doc said they were plenty high and sending the right signals but the Right teste is real small and the left is squishy and must neither be working. I tried to get ahold of my urologist this afternoon to check if I could do 10mg Testim/ day as the 5mg doesn't seem to do much, but he was gone for the weekend. I don't have any lab scheduled until April 1 and my next appt with him isn't til April 12th so I'm sort of on my own.

I finally made a little progress today after using 2 doses of 5 mg Testim and a little blue pill I was finally able to have a little "o". I don't think the neighbors will have to lock up their womenfolk yet but at least it's a start. I just didn't think it was ever going to happen again in this life here on earth. I also quit taking the lovastatin pill that I had been taking. I feel much less depressed and anxious than I was. Energy level is up a bit and no chest tightness to speak of. At least I feel like I'm headed in the right direction at last even if I have a long way to go.

I backed off to the 5mg of Testim today to see how it felt. I talked to my daughter and she seemed to think my voice seems to be cracking a little and a little lower than in the past and I had a calm day but nothing stirring down below. I plan on calling my urologist tomorrow and asking if I might need a shot to get me started or if maybe a shot plus the 5mg. of Testim might be appropriate. I am also going to ask about First Testosterone which is advertised as a 2% testosterone gel I could get quite a bit less expensive than Testim. Has anyone had any experience with that medication? I also plan on asking if the squishy feeling testis may still be alive as I can feel pain if I squeeze it, The other is quite small, hard and insensitive to touch.

I don't think it is a great idea to switch your dosage day to day like that. You'd be better served sticking to one protocol long enough to see if it makes a difference. If you aren't too timid to inject yourself, I'd ask about going on to injectable form of Testosterone. Shots are cheaper too and more effective, plus you don't have to be concerned if it is getting through your skin as you do with gels.

    Re: testicle atrophy & Orchiectomy

Well, I called my urologists office but couldn't get to talk to him so I made an appointment for March 1. I plan on staying on the 5 mg dose as the Dr prescribed from now until I can get another consultation with him and hopefully another blood test. The only reason I doubled the dose once was because I felt that the original dose was not working as fast as I thought it should. I was feeling more frustrated while on the TRT than the frustration prior to starting treatment. I guess it was primarily a lack of understanding and false hope. I must learn to be patient as I have the rest of my life to try to get it right.

The rants about statins are (i think) potentially dangerous. If you have high Cholesterol its all well and good to change your diet, work out more etc but... Many people have this problem from genetic issues and diet etc will not do enough. Taking COQ10 if your on statins is (I think) a good suggestion but.... Also If you have the rare issue of muscle damage from statins? That different. Otherwise PLEASE get medical advice from a doctor you trust not "phil"

If you are having issues with the 5 mg dose try applying it in a different place. I did the body and shoulders thing , and found that I got aches in my shoulders. I switched to applying on my thighs, and it seems so much better. No body aches, and I also don't seem to smell like Androgel to others.

I think the absorbtion is better on the thighs, and further is closer to where the real thing should have come from.

thank you for the advice. My GP did a blood test and recommends doubling my dose for lovastatin and doubling my dose of Gemfibrozil plus taking fish oil OTC twice daily as both cholesterol and triglycerides are too high. I think I will at least try the Testim on the thighs as I still have no libido on 5mg. I don't get another Urologist appt until March 1 so hopefully I can get another blood test for T and other hormone related issues then and see what my level is on when I'm taking the 5 mg. It's a slow process but I must be patient. The current dose gives me a little better feeling of well being but is much less than desired.

The injections are so much easier and much more effective. A good source of information can be found on the Yahoo group hypogonadism2 the guys there know virtually everything you need to learn to treat the problem.

    Good Luck

I agree regarding the injections. I do my own, so things are relatively easy in that regard. I found the gels irritating and messy. I sweat like a hog and I washed as much gel off as I ever got through my skin. All in all, a much easier (and cheaper) route.
