Having lived in the Palm Springs area in the early 70's and in the central valley of Cal, and St Louis, there is a big difference between a dry heat and humid heat. Both are hot and the dry heat can get a lot higher if your not careful it can kill, the humid heat is just be more miserable then the dry even if the temp never gets above 100.
In a dry heat put on a sweat shirt and you will stay cool, don't try that in a humid heat. Make no mistake both are hot, and I have been in Vegas when it was well over 100 and you just can't breath.

Fun fact: Humans are deuterostomes, which means that when they develop in the womb, the anus forms before any other opening. Which basically means at one point you were nothing but an asshole. Some people never develop beyond this stage!
