I feel your pain, I sure hope she comes home soon.

This is the season cats like to party at night, even the neutered ones.
Usually back in days, sometimes longer.
In my neighborhood I have seen three unrelated cats just commune on a hill.
Like hanging out.
Good Luck to you and kitty. No reassurance like reappearance.

Did the cat come back?
Someone is probably missing this cat, although the kitty is looking quite good after its' ordeal, with a new staff!

"...Workers on the island have apparently taken quite a shine to the mysterious cat. Elizabeth Rapuano, the park's director of marketing and communications, remarked that staff members have taken to feeding the cat cans of tuna. And while the brave calico appears to be in fine shape, she will be taken to a vet just to be sure...."
Hope the same is true for Orange Kitty who has not shown up for three days. Each day I was exploring closer and closer contact and to wrestle it with a tail pull, pet, stroke as it went on its side curled up with the upper front paw covering the face. Obviously enjoying it. I usually try to know how far I can wrestle a cat and make sure it is not one of those after "pleasure" scratches or bites hard. I did not push Orange Kitty's tolerance as I came out unscathed and those who know how to be "rough" with a kitty know they can really enjoy it as opposed to only light petting. Orange Kitty even got to come in the house the last night, ate a few bites inside then decided it preferred to go back outside. Hopefully lots of rodents or another feeder. Hard not to miss them.
The sad sight of a juvenile raccoon in the late morning, with a scab where the tail should be and some wounds to the hairless back of the neck was saddening and reminds us, Nature can be so cruel. Or such a bitch.
Hope it was not connected to Orange Kitty's health.
Raccoons in daylight are a rare sighting.
What say River, a sign?

I am happy to hear your best friend has returned.
I got sick earlier this evening and went to bed, Rupert knew this and snuggled up next to me, after a 3 hour nap I woke back up feeling much better and Rupert wanted to be in my arms, purring which he does not normally do, at least not very loud, he was worried about me. Cats and dogs both express themselves ways that cannot be truly be measured.

Orange Kitty appeared tonight.YEA
First in the wrong yard for feeding, refused to acknowledge calling and finally found him in his "feed me" bed.
Acting scardy kitty again, looks healthy, must have other food options.
Black Kitty didn't catch any rodents today so took down a bird. Hardly a feather remained.

Years ago I was living in the place where I still am now. One day this young cat decides to move in. I guess she was still a kitten. However she was a really good cat since she would allow me to stay there even though this was her God-given place. The agreement was that I was allowed to stay in her place since I did have all my clothes and stuff already there for as long as I would feed her, pay the lot rent, and keep her warm on some cold nights. So I guess I'm lucky that I have a cat that lets me stay in the place that I want to live at.

I know just what you mean, for a month before the move he knew something was not right and he was not happy about it, we have been here sense the first of the month and he already is starting to adjust, I think he likes the place. his cat tree is at the front bay window, he loves to sit there and watch everything that is going on.

Further Tails of the Orange Kitty
Orange Kitty now has a cycle I have observed a few times.
Shows up and eats a reasonable amount and leaves allowing no contact.
After a few days, shows up boldly sitting at front door and accepting social contact as mentioned, eats lightly.
Disappears for a couple days.
Begin cycle.
Ideas? How to make a social kitty.

I have two cats that live with me. One you see in the picture with me (Dharma) and the other is an orange tiger stripe cat named Boo. When I first met Boo, he showed up at my front door, he was just a kitten. He was meowing and rubbing up against my leg. So I let him in, gave him love and fed him. I would then let him out. This went on for a couple of weeks so I let him move in. The very first thing I noticed when he moved in was how mean he was. Sure, when he is hungry he will love on you. After feeding, petting time is over. Cat nearly ate half my hand off one day! To this day I can’t figure him out.
I do have several cats that live around my house outside, however. And I have tamed some of the wild cats by using repetition I feed them twice a day at the same time. As they feed I would stay close and watch them eat. After they get used to that I eventually move in a little closer and try to pet them. At first they would trip out. Eventually they will figure out I’m not going to hurt them so they begin to let me stroke their backs. The next step is to pick one up after they eat and try to pet it.
This technique really didn’t work on all the cats, but it did on some of them. I have several cats that visit me regularly now. My hope is that the friendlier the cats are, the more chances of them finding a loving home.
Wild Orange kitty has been unseen for the longest period of time since we started our relationship a few years ago. Although an appearance would be "nice", I feel it is ok.

Orange Kitty appeared in the back yard instead of the front yard. Flirted with lots of "cute" back rolling and curling and allowed me a few pets. Ate but, must be supplementing diet from other suckers or hill rodents. O.K. was last seen jumping the back yard fence apparently stalking a new hill instead of the one in front and down the street.

Cat - Believe it or Not but is,
Check out Animal Planet if you don't believe me.
A program called, "My Cat From Hell"
http://animal.discovery.com/tv-sched...129796.39591.1
"An aggressive and unpredictable cat aptly named Bear takes his toll on owner Hannah's love life. Will Hannah chose to keep her boyfriend or her cat?; Recently engaged Matt loves fiancée Amanda but hates her cats and has reached his breaking point."
I could not believe it when I read it but, it is there.
I bet Matt, the boy friend is allergic to cats. Cats always know who is the Cat allergic person in a room. Someone needs to give Matt a short length of string.
And it also came to mind, there is no competing Dog thread.

could we please have more cat icons.
Good reason for no dog threads, Dogs are loyal, obey, willing to please you, do what they are told, Cats are not, will not, don't care and never do the above.
Cats are wild, they chose to be with us as long as we do what they want.
Yes I am allergic to cats, most of them, Rupert is one, what can I say.
