Feral Orange Kitty, has not been around for two weeks.
He was eating less and seemed well fed from "hill meat".
I hope he did not become "hill meat".
Meditate to Orange Kitty to hang out here again. Thanks.

The water bowl is in the kitchen out of the way at the far end of the sink, I bumped the strainer today and several knives fell to the floor where Rupert was having a nice drink of water.
Talk about having your stomach in your throat.
How I don't know but none of them stuck him as they hit him and the floor, scared the hell out of both of us. He ran to the LR and I followed him and checked him all over for blood, NO blood so I made it up to him with some catnip treats.
Right now he is flat on his back sound asleep about 2 feet from me, he is such a good boy.

This morning, well more like noon, I saw a turkey vulture sweeping unusually low over my back yard lawn and disappearing out of view where my back yard ends in a down hill slope. It was chased off by one crow.
Hours later I looked down at the yard below where Old Fat Black Kitty likes to hang. "Dead meat." About the right size for a gutted cat but the owner told me on the phone it was a piece of racoon. The turkey vulture's target.
I hope feral Orange Kitty moved on the greener pastures. He was eating less food when rat season bloomed. Just like Old Fat Black Kitty. I suspect feral Orange Kitty got harvested by the Coyote.
Possibly Bobcat. Rarely a Mountain Lion.
I will maintain hope, feral Orange Kitty just may re-appear one day after his oats are sown.

It has been my experience around here, we are out in the country with woods behind us, that the feral cat lasts about 3 years, then gone.
Something will get them, winter, fox, eagle, big dog, something.

I still look for feral Orange Kitty but, he has gone to more plentiful mouse fields.
I think the coyote has tapped out the area too. No more raccoons raiding my garden.
And I heard a nearby Pug dog got ate. Black Kitty finds an occasional mouse or rat.
Now that the evenings are getting warmer, old fat Black Kitty thinks she is going to hunt later.
Tonight I could not herd her in until after 9 PM. And of course she was at her bowl making noises.
I gave her a roughing as she meow-grunted splayed out on the floor like the Spinx but, not resisting.
Gave her a good talking to also. Teased her a bit favoring Solly Kitty who comes immediately when I demonstrate cat calling, then finally fed her. Now she is done with me.
What of Izzy, little Izzy, the trickster. He gets his attention on schedule. His.
Just viewed this clip. Have you ever imagined a house cat, ok maybe a Maine Coon
taking down a toddling two year old. Repeated with several diff small kids and large cats.
I would have never imagined.

Moi..This piece you have just written, is magical..Full of love and humor... It's a poem. I've never seen your soft tender, cat-loving side...You should display it more often..
Thanks much Jackie
Moi, thanks for the video, I saw Rupert in there several times. Cats are truly a joy when you are lucky enough to have one adopt you.

A neighbor just shared with me a Black Cat that had been gone for
years and years, since his daughter was a child, came back!
It was just assumed it became a meal for the coyote.
The good side about the coyote clean outs is the reduction of our
marauding raccoons incidents.
No missing cat is truly gone.
It just moved on.

You're saying you once eloped with Betty Buckley?
“They also call it the Winged Isle. Some say it is because the island, if seen from above, would look like butterfly wings. And I do not know the truth of it.” Then, “ ‘And what is truth?’ said jesting Pilate.” From: The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains by Neil Gaiman.
The cat that returned was living about 200-300 feet away at a different home.
It was not locked in, but for some reason decided to cruise back to its' old home.
I heard from the lost cat home today and put them in touch with the found cat home.
I suspect we will see a cat sharing arrangement, designed by the cat.

The saga of the returning Black cat is that it seems to prefer to hang at its' rediscovered home.
The neighbors involved are in touch. They let the cat decide. Both gave the cat out door time so it could hike to the third house down anytime.
I wonder what the previous home did to deserve this rejection?

The cat in "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" should get an Oscar.
Every scene played well. Especially sleeping by Danial Craig's head.
I hope they used a stunt cat for its' last scene.

This clip will not last forever.
3 eagles, some cats and a scruffy fox.
I am amazed no cat became Eagle or Fox food.

Enjoy.
It is like the animals knew it was time to all be cool together.

My little brown girl, Persephone, was sick when I got up this morning. I think it is something internal. She's not doing very well.
I'm in real distress as to what I can do for her. I don't get paid until Tuesday, and I'm on my way to the MoM by that point.
She is in real pain, and I desperately want to help her, but I just don't know what to do. She often suffers from constipation issues, and this seems related. Her back end was a real mess, and I think she's hurt herself from straining.
As per the vet's previous advice, she eats only soft food, and I mix in a 1/4 teaspoon of Metamucil into it. It has staved off worse problems until now. Reading the online vet websites, it sounds like she's got colon/rectal cancer. The symptoms seem to fit.
The little girl is breaking my heart. She is barely moving. Cries when I walk past her, and is currently curled up in my sink (a thing she has never done in her 15 years of life.
I'm hoping she rallies soon. I can't afford the vet, and I'm going to be away. I feel like I'm failing a member of my family. I may have to transfer some funds to the guy who's looking after my cats while I'm away, so he can get her to the vet. I'll just have to work something out with my landlord when I get back.
Bloody cats. You love 'em... sometimes that love is scary.
