There are some who speculate Harry Truman learned of the Manhattan Project as the Chair of a Senate Committee investigating war expenditures.

Question: Why or who would be behind such secrets regarding the body of JFK?

River, your military service may require you to believe the pablumized truth or your military service may recognize the classic cross fire kill ala grassy knoll.
    Just wondering,

    Re: I Wonder

I have already said that the whole thing was botched, from start to finish, I am sure someone knows the real truth, but I believe Kennedy was killed in Dallas that November day in 1963, that his body is in the casket that went to Arlington. As for who killed him, or how many, I don't think we will ever know the truth, but its just not worth me spending time screwing with it, its a waist of my energy, I have better things to do with my time then worrying about if the government faked an autopsy report on Kennedy, or if there was a second shooter on the grassy knoll, of it the government was behind 911, or if Ben Laden was really shot and sent to feed the fish, or if Truman knew about the Bomb before he became president, or if the world will really end on Oct 21st or Dec 21st or any number of other time wasting ways to spend what little time I have left worrying about things I will never find the real answer about.

I really don't care, Truman said he did not know about the bomb until he was president, I accept that. The world will end as we know it but when we will not know, I accept that Ben Laden was killed by the Seals, and if we dig up JFK we will find his body in that grave and the twin towers still fell down after being hit by two jet planes. You can conger up all the conspiracy theories you want, but for me its a total waist of time. It starts to sound like republican scar tactics.

A number of people wrote about Kennedy after his death, and at least one stated that Jacqueline Kennedy specifically asked him to suppress certain facts. She was a zealous promoter of the Kennedy legacy, and such uncomfortable facts as the President's medical infirmities might not have squared with the image they were trying to project.

After Custer was killed, a number of unpleasant facts about the dead were suppressed out of "respect" for Custer's widow, and a number of officers made it clear that once Mrs. Custer went to her reward fuller information would be forthcoming. Unfortunately, Mrs. Custer outlived all of the commissioners who investigated the battle and they never got the opportunity to lay blame on Custer's foolhardy behavior.

Similarly, embarrassing details about Scott's Antarctic expedition were suppressed out of respect for his widow. While this behavior now strikes us as irresponsible, it was fairly common at the time. JFK's back problems were irrelevant; the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. That these details were not made available in 1963 is only surprising to people who expect to you-tube post-mortem pictures of Heath Ledger or Michael Jackson. There once was a time when the privacy of the dead and their families were respected, if only for a brief time after death.

    I Wonder
Why "they" don't just declare it private rather then put up a hoax!
And how many does it take to perpetrate the hoax, including the Warren Commission?
Einstein left his brain to science. It is anatomically unique, BTW. JFK's adrenal glands deserved no less. His accomplishments in light of his illness were the stuff of medical scrutiny and learning.
Jackie the Keeper of the Flame. Hardly! She opted out ASAP to the dismay of the nation. That is how I remember it. No blame to Jackie, just how I remember it. It was her's to choose.

At question IS NOT the social graces of the time. At question here is the MEDICAL COMPETENCE of the autopsy medical practitioners. The RESULTS of the autopsy were not to be made public. Why do an incompetent job unless you are hiding something? If you are wanting to make something that will be accepted why choose incompetent physicians to do the autopsy?

Isn't it about time we realized that this has went on for a long time and they keep telling lie after lie to keep it quiet?

...and what the HELL was Allen Dulles doing on the Warrern Commission after JFK had FIRED him? What did HE know about that he had to be on the commission? IT STINKS to high Heaven...

River, you know that I am with you on a LOT of things but this JFK assassination, well, it is just TOO obvious and they have lied and lied and lied about it. You can tell...

Of course I can tell, but is me bitching about it going to give us truth?

    OK, I will play along,

    WHO Killed JFK,

    Possible answers.
LBJ or more likely his wife.
    Castro,
    Nikita Khrushchev
    The Mob
    A lone gunman.
    CIA
    FBI
    other

and the Answer is most likely

    The Mob.

Why did they fake the autopsy reports.

Think back, this was still 50's thinking even though it was 1963, things did not start changing until the anti war protest of the late 60's and 70's.

They were protecting the image of the Kennedy at the Kennedy's request. They were after all the first family and Joe was still alive and well at that time. MONEY kept things quiet.

How do I come up with this, cold logic.

Does it matter? NO, do I care? Not really. Should I care? NO, (for this reason, does it effect me in any way one way or the other, NO) Is this taking way to much of my time and energy? Absolutely.

    I wonder

Were the ancient mound builders of the Mississippi valley trying to build flood shelters?

No I don't think so, it was more inline with a religion. Many are found just north of St Louis in Illinois. Look up Cahokia Mounds Collinsville, IL

That's just a theory. Remember when Neanderthal were a separate extinct lineage and not within us as per today's genome studies. Some as passes for Science can be faith based. I always had faith Neanderthal interbred with moderns. Now Science sez I was right all these decades.
    AND
I say, or wonder, if the mounds were about flood shelters.

And I wonder how you come up with all this shit. Don't you think they would have just picked up and left to get out of the way of the water? It wasn't like they had cities and a bunch of possessions back then. It would be a hell of a lot easier to hike a few miles to get out of the water than it would be to build a mound. Moi, come on, get real.
There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Who killed JFK is not important anymore. What IS important is that they still lie and 'keep secrets'. They won't tell you what you want to know and then claim that it is for your own good.

Doesn't this sound VAGUELY familiar? Like the Popes of the Middle Ages before the enlightenment?

Hell, they still do it to protect Child-Molesting Priests.

SO the CIA does it to protect ...who?

I think that they were building waterproof graves for the dead.
