    Registration Problems

If you are unable to gain access to the Archive after registering, be sure to respond to the confirmation email ASAP. I shit can dead registrations.

If you have responded to the email and still can’t get in, or you are told you don’t exist, send me an email. Archive@Eunuch.org. There might be a problem I can fix. Otherwise, it might be a problem you created.

All registrations are reviewed (by me) before being accepted. If one fails to meet minimal informational requirements, or posts objectionable materials, I summarily dismiss the registration. In that case you would have to re-register.

Most problems encompass one or more of the following:

Incomplete information, such as location – earth, mom’s vagina, boyfriend’s bed, etc. Typing gibberish in the interests box (hell put in picking your nose, if nothing else). Try to refrain from turning it into a personal ad.

Not providing a valid birth date. (Half the world was not born on January 1).

Making offers to cut other people, requesting to be cut by other people, or offering or soliciting violent acts. (While we don’t give a shit what one does in their privacy, and cant stop anyone from doing anything, we do have very fine lines with legal issues and advocacy of “illegal” activities.)

We do not ask much information, but we do expect it. Some of it is for verifications - I cross check ISP information with your geographical area. Don't tell me you are in Paris when your ISP is in Podunk. We use these sorts of information to prevent trolls and adolescent-types and spamming sales assholes from invading and disrupting us. Of course, some do get past us. Hell I am here...

If you have further problems, send me an email and I will see what I can do to help.

    Re: Registration Problems

This is one of the best-run message boards I have ever seen, and with my real jobs I have to use many. I travel a lot and the companies and organizations I work with require complex and accurate communication, but their online facilities are not as good as those at EA.

I can tell two things: 1) These site facilities are run by excellent administrators with an excellent chain-of-command. Paolo and Kristoff seem to be some of the best generals I have ever seen -- dictating and implementing policy in a benevolently iron-handed way, monitoring superbly, and contributing interesting (as well as always helpful) comments about the themes here too, 2) It must be expensive.

Well, here's one new member, on the road right now, and able to relax in the hotel and just laugh at the jokes and read the supporting comments and really appreciate the sense of community here. I don't mean to ramble, but I am just overwhelmed with the excellence here.

I do also have one quick question. Paolo posted a closed thread where he talks about the "Post Report" item. I did not read his post until after I had used it once to send a note about something I saw happen in real time and I noticed that none of the administrators were online. Within less than 4 "viewings" of the post I thought they should look at, it was removed and I saw Kristoff had logged on. I hope I did the right thing by calling it to his attention, apparently by bot email, and not just waiting for him to likely find it on his own next time he was here. Was my "report post" done OK?

Because of reading the Paolo posting I was more reluctant to report another, but I just waited and watched, and when Kristoff happened to sign back on, the post I also question was quickly removed -- and this one was even scarier than the first I had reported. Maybe some guidelilnes on how you would or would not want us to be watchdogs here would be helpful. Maybe I worry too much, because you have things under control here, like I said, better than many much more expensively-run so-called professional boards. Thank you.

From NaziNuts, not a Nazi, but fascinated by the theme.

    Thank you for the complement.

I fixed one thing above: Paolo and I tend to watch over things here, not Pueros. OTOH, Pueros is a significant and welcomed poster and story writer here. We also have watchful help from Uncle Flo, River, Talula, Christina, and Jesus.

And finally, Ieunuch is actually the Five Star General here. Paolo and I wear only 1 or 2 of 'em.
