Lentulus and Bugnuts grappled like angry bulls. The ground shook with their exertions. No advantage. They broke, purple bruises forming in the gouge marks where they touched each other. Lentulus charged and Bugnuts sidestepped, grabbing an arm and breaking the fingers on one hand. Lentulus howled and rolled. He dragged Bugnuts to the ground with a grunt, his good hand gouging deep into Bugnuts' abs. Even so, Bugnuts got a hand on Lentulus' ear and ripped it from its moorings, exposing white skull that quickly turned to blood. Lentulus screamed and kicked his stomach again. Bugnuts doubled over. He would surely die of the internal injuries. Lentulus bounced up and grabbed Bugnuts' throat. Bugnuts raked his nails across Lentulus' eyes before the man could rip his neck apart. As they parted, Bugnuts' wrapped his hand around Lentulus' genitals, swung the man around. Like a mighty hammer throw, he lifted Lentulus into the air. Jared winced at the spectacle of a man swinging into the air supported by such delicate anatomy but he dared not blink or look away.

With a gruesome tearing noise, flesh and ligaments ripped from deep inside Lentulus as his genitals separated from his body. Lentulus howled and grabbed at the bloody hole between his legs. Bugnuts' didn’t' even look up. He punched his fist holding the bloody prize into Lentulus' mouth and jerked hard, snapping skull from neck. Lentulus' body went limp. Bugnuts' stood and backed away. He pissed on the dead man's face and cursed his soul to eternal damnation with the Inferi Dii.

I wanted to add that this is only 250 words out of a 5700 word short story. It is not a gladiator epic set in ancient Rome. It is set in modern times and takes place in late afternoon to just after sunset.
