Too Busy!

I cannot remember a time in the last week, I have actually had enough time to write a blog post. I could not even really tell you what's going on in the world right now, but I can give you a discourse on cross-cultural training (My Research Specialty) lol

Thank you to all who commented on my last post about religion. It means a lot to me to have support. I manage to balance my beliefs with my lifestyle but honestly cannot fully express how in words. I pray all the time, sometimes having silent conversations with God while driving or doing something similar. It is from these conversations that I have been able to balance and affirm that yes I am a Roman Catholic, and never want to be anything else, and yes I am a gay male who no longer wants to be subject to an overactive sex drive.

I have always supported others regardless of beliefs even if they attack mine. (no one has done that here) I always tell people not to get offended if I ask about their beliefs. It is honestly in the pursuit of knowledge. My bachelor's degree is in Religious Studies from a secular institution so I have studied a lot of different faiths. I just have a natural curiosity and like to learn.

I guess without the "like to learn" attribute, I would be a bad doctoral student. lol

The Song goes, "Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in."

I studied scriptures and taught Sunday School for decades, I still catch myself "Praying" It's something I did out of desperation.

I still do it, even If I don't believe in imaginary heavenly friends any more. That's OK too, It gives me some focus on the problem.

It's very liberating to realize that shame is of my own making and that I can let it go, no mater how afraid I was to come out.

I let beliefs over ride truth for far too long.

As William Clinton said, "If you believe it, it isn't a lie." But it might no be true either.
