                           Three Letters, Part 2

This is the second of three letters which I recieved from a 
correspondent friend back in the mid 70's.  Even though they are 
nearly a quarter of a century old, I still find them quite exciting 
and provocative reading and I think you will too.  All comments and 
feedback are welcome.

Letter #2                  Arab-African Sadism

The Sahara Desert is, to this day, lawless.  The mistreatment of 
prisoners is the accepted practice, and the homo-erotic, passionate 
and sexually playful Arabs are want to vent their sado-masochism 
on  captured desert travelers and warriors.  The El-Ghilan (sp) are 
bands of professional raiders and marauders, operating from 
Timbukto to Tripoli to Kartoum, who take great pleasure and delight 
in the genitals of their victims.  Known for their 'Shallahhuh 
Tisnlihh' (sp) (They stripped him totally), they capture by ambush 
and immediately strip their captives; then, carefully they inspect 
and analyze the captives genitals---they fondle, measure, compare 
and (according to erotoligist, Allen Edwards) take photos.  They 
then eagerly smear the irritating juice of the Euphorbia plant on 
the head of the captives penis, stake the naked captive to the 
desert floor by one ankle and retire to sit in a circle and watch 
the resulting action.  The captive not only develops a quick 
erection (if they haven't already gotten one from the fondling), 
but their penis swells to unprecidented proportions.  The caustic 
juice of the Euphorbia plant causes a fierce half-burning, half-
itching sensation which causes an extreme erection that even the 
most strenuous manipulation cannot alleviate.  There is an abnormal 
swelling of the penis head with a semi-deadening of the nerve 
endings making orgasm difficult to obtain while the irritation 
makes the desire for orgasm insanely intense.  The satyrized 
captive gives in to impulsive masturbation much to the vocal 
pleasure of the viewers.  The captive massages his cock with 
primitive abandonment, desperately trying to reach the desired 
relief of orgasm, not knowing that it could take two or three hours 
before the nerves in his cockhead begin to respond to his desire.  
The Arabs, once masturbation is well underway, begin playing cat-
and-mouse games with their tormented plaything---holding the 
captives hands away from his enraging penis, looping a string 
around his genitals and yanking, threatening castration, etc., and 
the Arab delight-of-delights, while the captive unmercifully beats 
away on his own penis is sodomized.  Finally, after an orgasm has 
been satisfactorily obtained by one and all, the exhausted captive, 
if he is lucky, is robbed and left naked on the desert.  If the 
captive happens to be uncircumcised though, he is either relieved 
of his foreskin or else he contributes his entire penis to the much 
valued collection of infidel penises the El-Ghilan possess. And, if 
the captive is from an enemy tribe, he is torturously castrated and 
then sold as an Eunuch slave with their removed penis being 
displayed as a victory trophy.  Occasionally, a captive of great 
beauty (with a penis to match) is kidnapped and taken to the 
village where he is forced to impregnate many of the women there in 
hopes that his 'Qualities' will become part of their tribe in 
future generations.

Kidnapping for the purpose of forced procreation has been reported 
throughout history (including this century during the Nazis regime 
of Europe).  Extraordinarily handsome men in African tribes are 
still coveted by other tribes for their sperm.  The most famous 
case of such kidnap is the biblical story of Samson who was taken 
by the Philistines so that he, according to Talmudic tradition, 
could breed a nation of supermen.  He was blinded so that he could 
not see the women he was impregnating, and during the sexual 
slavery he was made to 'grind' some three thousand women thus 
fathering a great many enemy Philistines.  A similar situation was 
experienced by Captain John Speke (the British Geographer and 
associate of Sir Richard Burton) during the last century when he 
was on expedition in search of the source of the Nile.  Speke found 
himself temporarily detained in the kingdom of Buganda because the 
King of Buganda had ordered him to impregnate six black concubines. 
The king was not merely being hospitable, but, according to Burton, 
wanted to see if the children would turn out to be black or white.  
Speke, who was a tall, handsome blonde, was also given the great 
honor of being sodomized by the king---to whom he repaid the 
compliment.

Captain Speke was also a victim of forced circumcision during an 
earlier expedition.  Edwards relates the occurance: "the fiendish 
warriors sprang to their feet and came at them with war clubs.  
Burton plunged straight through the screaming mob, slashing and 
hacking flesh and bone, with Herne and Speke sabering close behind 
him...."Kill the Franks who kill the Somali!" one of them shrieked, 
charging at Speke...Speke parried a sharp blow that snapped off the 
blade of his sword...in the next instant he was stunned and beaten 
down by several well-delivered shocks, then jumped upon by three 
drooling natives who strapped his hands behind his back and jerked 
down his trousers...Speke was still in a daze when one of them, 
pressing a longknife to his throat, lashed out; "Circumcision or 
death, you Christian dog!"....he pulled Speke's foreskin and 
stretched it tight, then sliced it off with his razor-edged blade.  
Speke fainted at once.  The Somali ran off triumphantly with his 
prepuce trophy...by the gray light of dawn, Burton and Herne found 
Speke lying where he had been clubbed, bound, stripped, circumcised 
and spear pricked....he was still very much alive...he cried out in 
terror, it was because he imagined that the lustful blacks were 
again fingering his penis and severing his foreskin."

Forced circumcision of Christians has long been an Arab crusade, 
and there are many such accounts perpetrated on individuals and 
entire conquered populations and armies (including the Crusades).  
As Burton told his doctor-friend who was about to circumcise 
him, "I'd be as good as dead if I set foot in Arabia with a 
foreskin.  Any Christian passing a mosque is liable to be seized 
and circumcised...perhaps buggered besides."  M'sier Bertolucci, 
the Swiss consul in Cairo, persuaded some Bedouin camel drivers to 
take him into Mecca in disguise, only to have them betray him once 
inside the forbidden city.  The Grand Sherif and his three sons 
took turns raping him, he was pulled naked through the crowded 
streets by his penis and before being allowed to leave the city, 
his foreskin was sacrificed to Allah.  In another casee, a British 
officer named Kilsby was caught in a harem in Karachi.  He was 
thrown to the black slaves and eunuchs who brutally sodomized and 
masturbated him under the supervision of the irate harem owner.  
Then, instead of being castrated (which is the usual punishment for 
such an offense) he was circumcised...in public, on an 
executioner's platform, in a bush street, before a crowd of 
spectators.

Napoleon, knowing full well that he could not send one of his 
uncircumcised French troops into Mecca, instead sent a Spanish Jew 
named Badia to spy in the forbidden city.  What wasn't known is 
that the Jews have a different style of circumcision than the 
Moslems, and the spy was thus caught.  He was practically 
masturbated to death by black eunuchs in the Sherif's harem before 
finally being released to leave the city.  Other Jews that were 
caught in Mecca "were strung up by their scrotum and then slashed 
in the crotch until they fell to the ground with their testicles 
torn off".  Burton explained the difference between the Islamicized 
and the Jewishized penis to his doctor-circumcisor...  "The Jewish 
operator, after snipping off the foreskin, tears and turns back the 
inner layer to join the outer fold. In this way the external skin 
does not retract far from the mucous membrane, and the healed wound 
shows a narrow ring of cicatrice.  This tearing is not done by 
Muslims.  They just slice off the prepuce, apply styptic to the 
open edges, then remove the tie.  Instead of a ring on the shaft, 
the Moslems leave a trace of the foreskin, noticed as a slight fold 
of skin when the penis is at rest.  The difference is one of 
appearance...a difference between suspicion and acceptance as well 
as life and death.  The Arabs observe everything, even circumcision 
scars."  A word of caution to circumcised Americans...don't try to 
penetrate Mecca!  Western doctors use the Jewish method of 
circumcision and it is as difficult to hide your 'cicatrice ring' 
from Arab scrutiny as it is to hide a foreskin.

That phallicide still exists to this day in Africa is beyond 
question. Dr. Jacobus, writing about the ferociousness of the 
African Arabs states; "I have in my possession reports concerning 
atrocities perpetrated by rebel tribesmen under the leadership of 
Sheik Abdel-Krim during the Morrocco revolt in the early 1920's.  
The fanatic Riffs, Berbers and Kabyles all castrated every French 
and Spanish soldier they apprehended, dead, wounded or just 
captured.  The English encountered similar acts during their 
Egyptian and Sudanese campaigns; every soldier left dead or wounded 
on the battlefield was later found mutilated between the legs.  The 
Arabs are in the aberrant habit of pulling any captive infidel's 
trousers down and examining his genitals as to size and shape, 
satisfaction resulting in their ablation.  An entire company (over 
200 men) of Zouaves had their penises cut off before they were 
released, indicating that the Berbers deemed those penises 
praiseworthy trophies to take home and show to their women and 
children."  In the more remote areas of Ethiopia, the door of a 
warrior's home is decorated by a string or two of penises from 
enemies as proof of his victories.  Such strings are also worn as 
necklaces by both men and women, in hopes that these amulets will 
increase their power of procreation.

The most gruesome aspect of phallicism is cannibalism.  This 
injures Western sensibilities like no other fact of life, and yet, 
any serious student of anthropology must investigate this 
practice...just as many a traveler has become a participant (in one 
way or another).  It should be noted that, any infidel caught 
wandering too near the forbidden Islamic city of Harar was 
publically stripped, masturbated, emasculated and then, after the 
wound was cauterized, he was forced to watch while his genitals 
were roasted and eaten.

Sir Richard Burton gives the most vivid account of phallic 
cannibalism in his report of his visit to the capital city of 
Dahomey, Porto Novo, during the festival of Legba, the Phallic God, 
in the late 1800's.  As he first entered the palace garden area, he 
reported, he saw -- "a long row of naked young blacks, around one 
hundred or so, half standing, half sagging, their arms strapped 
behind them over a shoulder high wooden rail which supported them.  
The oldest was not yet eighteen and the youngest just barely 
fourteen.  They had all been chosen because of their extraordinary 
good looks.  They were all still alive but most were unconscious as 
a result of the horrible mutilation they had each been subjected to 
just moments earlier.  Plainly visable was the crudely sutured, 
still oozing, bloody wounds in the center of their groins, the 
result of the savage and inhumane removal of their entire genital 
clusters.  Each and every single one of the poor boys had been 
fully emasculated."

Burton was told later that all of those boys had been deprived in 
honor of the God, 'Legba', and its royal harem.  The worshipers of 
Legba consider the penis and testicles to be the seat of strength 
in a man and there was no doubt that all of those removed clusters 
had been taken, roasted and then eaten by the King and his cortege.

A short time later in another garden of the palace, Burton 
reports, "I saw another row of naked young blacks, around fifty 
this time, again just like the first group, all half standing half 
sagging, their arms strapped behind them over a shoulder high 
wooden rail which supported them.  This time though, while one 
naked young negress fanned each, another manipulated the boys fully 
aroused organ towards its final orgasm. All of the boys were 
moaning and writhing in a delerium of lust - an orgasm being 
necessary before they could make their sacrifice to Legba.  Just as 
soon as each boy achieved his orgasm, he automatically announced 
the fact with a loud cry of pleasure that immediately became a 
scream of pain and agony.  Just as the load of semen erupted from 
the head of his throbbing hard shaft out onto the hand of the young 
negress that was masturbating him, a razor sharp blade was quickly 
woelded and his entire cluster was brutally slashed from between 
his legs.  Another naked young negress would then step up and smear 
a mixture of melted butter, tannin and sulfur powder over the 
bleeding groin of the boy and then crudely suture the two edges of 
skin together across the open wound.  The first young negress, the 
one who had masturbated the boy to orgasm, meanwhile would carry 
her freshly sliced off prize up to where the King was seated and 
proudly show it to him along with the splash of semen all over her 
hand as proof of the worthiness of the prize.  This same procedure 
was repeated over and over until all of the boys had made the 
sacrifice.  After showing them to the King, the sliced off clusters 
were placed on a large silver tray on a table in front of the 
King.  After the last cluster had been placed on the tray, the 
entire tray was placed inside the open mouth of the statue of Legba 
beside the King.  The head of the statue was actually a furnace 
inside of which a blazing fire burned and the open mouth was an 
oven.  In a few minutes when all of the clusters on the tray were 
thoroughly cooked, the tray was removed from the mouth of the 
statue and placed back on the table in front of the King."

After being presented formally to the King, Burton was given a seat 
of honor beside the King and then a silver plate upon which three 
choice clusters of freshly removed and roasted boy sex organs had 
been placed was set before Burton.

The King said, "You see, is nice big, young man meat.  Massha 
Burton - he eat and be very strong and brave and be all the time 
ready to make babies."

Being fearful for his life of offending the King, Burton 
reluctantly accepted the offered plate and consumed the three 
clusters.

In Africa, the making of eunuchs was a cruel commercial business 
undertaken for profit by the slave trade.  Burkhards, reporting of 
the "Great Manufactory" in upper Egypt stated that the price of a 
slave boy was increased three-fold by emasculation.  This 
Egyptian 'Manufactory' was ran by two 'Coptic Monks'!  They were by 
no means the only such operators but theirs was a place of 
particularly sinister fame, where Moslem slave traders were able to 
earn a big profit, yet dodge the actual commission of a crime - it 
being in his religious code a grave sin to castrate man or beast.  
Browne says that such 'Manufacturing' was the hereditary business 
of certain families.  Northeastern Africa, being near the transit 
facilities of the Nile and Red Sea, had been a recognized center 
for the business from as early as the tenth century. Always the 
healthiest of the young male captives were kept to become eunuchs.  
One of the early explorers to Central Africa related the following 
brief experience:  "That evening I heard a strange noise.  Coming 
out of my tent, I saw to my horror that each of the young male 
prisoners had been savagely mutilated between the legs with a blunt 
knife.  The victims lay on the ground bleeding from the ghastly 
wound where their genitals had been viciously excised.  After a 
while, those that had not bled to death were examined and a couple 
were selected to be turned loose and sent back to their own country 
to show their people what awaited them if captured while the rest 
were sold to slave traders.

In the sixteenth century, Leo Africanus, in his journal telling of 
his journey says of a village near Sokoto, in northwestern Nigeria 
which contained six thousand families, "...and here was in time 
past the court of a certain King who was slain by the King of 
Timbuktu, and all his sons were made eunuchs, and accounted among 
the number of the Kings eunuchs.  And this King had well over fifty 
sons."

The slave market in Zaria was said to have been the most horrible 
in all Nigeria, second in size only to the one in Kano.  Zaria was 
not too distant from the Sahara for Arab dealers to attend.  In 
Zaria there were several 'Gelding' sheds where, at the bidding of 
their buyer, so called "Experts in the Craft", turned the most 
magnificant of the young male slaves into eunuchs for the Arabian 
and Middle East markets, as well as those of the Sudan and Egypt.  
One can well imagine the terror of those young slaves, who had been 
justifiably proud of their masculinity, when they realized that 
they were being dragged into the ghastly shed which stank with the 
sour sweat of fear, and from which issued deep-throated shrieks 
that after a bit turned to gurglings which finally faded away into 
muffeled sobbing.  Many of the uncircumcised boys who entered these 
sheds had been told that they were going there to have a 
circumcision done, and while they were being firmly held by 
assistants, the operator would grip their entire genital cluster 
and with one swift stroke of the razor-sharp blade, slice off 
everything.  These smooth cut eunuchs were in great demand not only 
as harem guards for Arabia, but also in Turkey since there was no 
possibility of their satisfying the women who then appreciated, to 
the full, the attention of their masters.

During the nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century, the 
Sudan alone, according to reliable records, furnished some thirty 
plus thousand, much desired, Nubian eunuchs annually for the Middle 
Eastern slave markets with the raw material coming from Abyssinia 
(Ethiopia) and the neighboring countries, as a result of wars, 
kidnapping parties or by purchase from among the young male 
population of these regions.  These boys were brought to the 
Sudanese frontier and entry duties were there paid for their 
passage across the border, the duty being about two dollars per 
head.  At Khartoum, they were purchased by those engaged in the 
manufacturing of eunuchs.  The greatest eunuch factory of the 
country however, was to be found on Mount Ghebel-Eter at Abon-
Gerghe, near Khartoum.  Here a very old, large Coptic Monastery 
stood where the unfortunate young African boys were gathered.  The 
building was a huge, square structure resembling some ancient 
fortress.
The operating room with all the appliances required to perform 
these horrible operations was located on the ground floor of this 
fortress like structure.  The Coptic Monks there did a thriving 
business and furnished Turkey, Arabia, and Asia Minor with most of 
these much sought after, expensive, smooth cut nubian eunuchs, 
which brought from seven hundred fifty to one thousand dollars each 
up until the mid twentieth century.(All prices adjusted to US 
equivelent)  The manner of performing the operations was quite 
cruel and barbarous and it is a wonder a higher mortality rate than 
twenty percent didn't persist.  The poor, unfortunate, helpless 
youth was brought into the room where he was held down on a table 
top by four assistants.  The operator would then grasp the youth's 
exposed cluster and with one sweep of his razor sharp blade, slice 
everything clean off.  A short bamboo curucla or cathater was then 
inserted into the shortened urethra and allowed to protrude about 
two inches.  Crude clamps were then used to draw the skin closed 
across the wound and the whole area was plastered with a gob of 
some type of hemostatic compound (styptic paste?).  The newly 
created eunuch was then laid out in the hot sand of the nearby 
courtyard where he was left and if he survived the next twenty four 
hours he was ready for sale.  If he died his body was taken out and 
fed to the vultures, being looked upon as no significant loss.

The Oasis of Marduk (Mourzouk, Murzuk) on the northern fringes of 
the Sahara Desert in Southern Lybia, was another of the major 
centers of the world slave trade.  Officially, the end of the slave 
trade came in 1959(?), when the last officially recorded slave 
caravan arrived in Marduk.  Up untill that year, not counting women 
and older men, an estimated one hundred million, (100,000,000) 
young black males were taken out of Africa during the 500 years 
preceeding, and passed through centers like Marduk.  Arab dealers 
today are still able to round up victims in the Central African 
villages and smuggle their merchandise across the un-policed 
caravan routes northward to the south mediterranian ports for trans-
shipment to the Middle Eastern Sultanates where there is still a 
large demand for young eunuchs.  The brutal business of turning 
these young boys into eunuchs has been accomplished in the stopover 
sheds like the ones at Marduk for over five hundred (500) years.

To the African tribal kings in their continuous wars against each 
other, prisoners were mearly to be treated in the most brutal 
manner conceivable.  The German explorer, Dr. Eduard Vogel, who 
visited extensively throughout Central Africa in the 1850's and 
60's gives the following account of an incident that he personally 
observed. "Upon the order of the King, the first of over 200 
captured prisoners, a tall, lithe, handsome youth of around 
fifteen, was seized and a cord loop with a slip-knot was placed 
around his neck and tied to his right hand, thus greatly reducing 
any resistance to what was about to be done to him at the cost of 
strangling himself.  The young naked prisoner was then laid on a 
bench where four strong warriors held him down in such a way that 
the operative area was over a large notch cut into the end of the 
bench, with his valued and cherished cluster of genitals hanging 
fully exposed and defenseless.  After crudely shaving the area, the 
operator looped a piece of rawhide lashing tight around both the 
penis and scrotum, up close to the base of the penis causing it to 
become engorged and fully erect.  The resolution to accept his 
appointed fate could be seen on the young prisoners face along with 
the wish to escape that fate.  His head was raised and his big eyes 
were staring unblinkingly down at his unprotected, tied off tokens 
of masculinity, his jaws knotted in anticipation of the impending 
agony.  Taking his curved, razor sharp knife in one hand and 
grasping the tied off organs in the other, the operator swiftly 
swept the blade down across the boys crotch, between his hand 
gripping the genital cluster and the tie, thus slicing everything 
clean off.  As the boy's scream of agony diminished into broken 
sobbing, a mixture of hot butter and styptic powder was smeared 
over his mutilated crotch to retard the bleeding and a short piece 
of reed was inserted about an inch up into the new end of his 
urethra orifice.  A crude bone needle and some cotton thread was 
then used to suture the two edges of skin together across where his 
genitals had been, leaving only the end of the reed protruding.  
The newly created eunuch was then made to stand and walk around for 
a few steps and then he was forced to eat what had just been 
excised from between his legs."

"This same proceedure was repeated over and over again until all 
two hundred of the prisoners had been emasculated.  Several times 
during the next couple of days, the prisoners wounds were bathed 
with sulpher powder and balm.  In about ten days the prisoners had 
healed sufficiently to be ready for sale as slaves." 

"Sometime later," said Dr. Vogel, "I got an opportunity to closely 
examine one of the King's older eunuchs and ask him a few 
questions.  He was a tall, handsome, well built black around the 
age of thirty.  Even he wasn't sure of his exact age.  His features 
were quite clear and smooth and youthful with no hint of softness 
or obesity. He had the sharp, high-pitched voice of a pre-pubescent 
boy and there was no trace of any beard and very little body hair.  
A close examination of his crotch revealed a four inch long, thin 
verticle scar up the center of his crotch covered over with natural 
folds of his crotch skin giving him the appearance of being a 
female.  All traces of his male genitals were gone.  I couldn't 
even feel any rood stumps of a penis beneath the skin of his 
crotch.  There was only a small orifice down near the lower end of 
the scar for him to micturate from.  He told me that the penis that 
had been removed had been well over a handspan in length (around 8 
inches), and that his testi had been quite large as well.  He told 
me that he had been subjected to the emasculation over sixteen 
summers previous (around the age of fifteen), and he had also been 
forced to eat the removed.  When asked if there had been any 
noticable changes in him after his emasculation, he said that he 
didn't think there had been any real drastic changes aside from his 
voice remaining high pitched and no beard growth.

The twentieth century has not brought an end to phallicism or 
phallic cannibalism.  Officially yes....but in the vast open 
territory between the sporadic seats of government and industry 
(oil), time remains remarkably static (as any desert traveler who 
braves beyond the ususal tourist routes can testify).  For example, 
recently two American engineers who were working at an American Oil 
Company compound, decided to spend their Sunday driving around the 
desert in a jeep despite having been told not to leave the relative 
safety of the compound.  When they didn't return, a search party 
spent the next three days looking for them.  On the third day, just 
as the searchers were ready to give up, the jeep's horn was heard 
blasting off behind a distant dune.  The jeep was soon located and 
the two engineers were found sitting in it, tied to their seats, 
naked with gags in their mouths and crude bandages taped over their 
crotches.  One of the engineers was a quite handsome, 6' tall, 185 
lbs., 24 year old, blue eyed blonde from Iowa and the other a 
goodlooking black, 5'10" 175 lbs., 22 year old from Indiana.  "They 
tortured us for three whole days," testified the blonde, "before 
they finally sliced everything off this morning!"  "And then they 
forced us to watch, "stated the black, "while they roasted and ate 
what they had sliced off!" 

Even in the largest of Arab cities, such aspects of phallicism as 
homo-eroticism, public masturbation and exhibitionism, sexual 
torture of prisoners, (both civil and military), and, during the 
heat of battle, phallicide still persists.

A refuge from Beirut, Lebanon, told the following story about an 
incident he observed:  It was late one evening, around nine or so 
when I heard a strange noise coming from the big auto garage in the 
side street behind the apartment where I was living.  I quietly and 
discretely made my way up to one of the windows in the back of the 
garage and looked in to see what was going on.  What I saw almost 
made me choke with shock and horror.  There were about a dozen 
young men from the local college lined up naked against a rail in 
the middle of the garage facing towards the rear of the garage and 
the window where I was.  Their hands were tied behind their backs 
to the rail.  Facing the boys with their backs to the window where 
I was were about half a dozen militiamen, all armed.  The focus of 
attention though was on the center area between the boys and the 
militiamen where another college boy was tied down spreadeagled on 
his back on a bench and a very beautiful, completely nude young 
woman was leaning over him, just completing the vicious excision of 
his entire genital cluster.

In another incident, an intervillage bus was traveling in the 
country side between towns.  It was attacked bu Muslim militiamen.  
All of the male passengers on the bus were emasculated by the 
militiamen and the removed organs strung on a line down the center 
isle of the bus.

A third incident involved a small Christian village overran by 
Muslim militiamen who demanded as tribute, all of the town's 
teenage boys.  Almost sixty boys were marched away.  A few days 
later the townspeople were horrified to wake up and find sixty 
posts placed along the roadway into the village.  Nailed to the top 
of each post was a freshly circumcised and excised set of male sex 
organs.

I hope these notes on Arab-African phallicism haven't proven too 
distasteful to you.  I do have more.
